Philip McDermott

Mr. McDermott is a seasoned executive with over four decades of experience in the commercial diving and nuclear power industries. His unique blend of expertise in these fields has contributed significantly to the successful execution of complex projects worldwide.

Having served exclusively in various roles at Underwater Construction Corporation (UCC), Mr. McDermott has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and technical acumen. He began his career at UCC as a diver and progressively rose through the ranks to become a Senior Project Manager. His dedication and achievements led to his appointment as Vice President, Global Nuclear Services and Vice President of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions of the United States. He also serves as Chief Operating Officer of Underwater Construction Corporation UK Ltd., a position he has held since its founding in 2015.

Mr. McDermott is responsible for overseeing nuclear and non-nuclear projects in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic United States, as well as global nuclear projects in Canada, Central America, South America, Asia, Eastern Europe, and Western Europe. His deep understanding of both the commercial diving and nuclear power sectors enables him to effectively manage complex projects, mitigate risks, and deliver exceptional results.

Since joining UCC’s Executive Leadership Group in 2004, Mr. McDermott has been instrumental in driving safety initiatives, shaping corporate strategy, optimizing project controls, strengthening the supply chain, and fostering business development. His strategic insights and collaborative approach have played a pivotal role in the company’s continued growth and success.
