
Mr. Moody began his career in the diving industry after graduating from a vocational-technical high school with a four-year welding focus. Drawn to the unique field of inland commercial diving, he attended The Ocean Corporation in Houston, TX. After graduating in 1986, he immediately joined Underwater Construction Corporation (UCC) as a diver/tender, spending his initial five months working in Taiwan at a nuclear power plant.
He quickly earned promotions to Foreman and Project Manager and furthered his skills by completing UCC’s underwater welding and underwater plasma cutting trainings. Following the successful completion of the underwater coatings program in 1995, he earned Level I Coatings Inspector and Applicator status.
In 1996, Mr. Moody was appointed as Regional Manager of UCC’s Soddy Daisy, TN office. He also played a pivotal role in the establishment of the company’s Southern Region, overseeing the launch of offices in Houston, TX and Spartanburg, SC.
As Sr. Vice President of Southern Operations, Mr. Moody continues demonstrating his expertise and leadership. He oversees all aspects of the Southern Division’s business development and operations, working to maintain steady income streams, anticipating future growth opportunities, and implementing rigorous safety controls. He also maintains a long-standing collaboration with Mr. William Camp of the Tennessee Valley Authority’s (TVA) Power Service Shop, which is a testament to his dedication. Under his effective leadership, the office has expanded its capabilities, maintaining a skilled workforce and robust equipment inventory to meet the needs of the TVA’s plants.
Mr. Moody is well-respected for his collaborative and inclusive leadership style. He values open communication and appreciates his team’s dedication and thoughtfulness in every project. His personal philosophy of honesty and integrity guides his professional endeavors and has contributed greatly to UCC’s continued growth and success.
