Underwater Construction Corporation is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Founded in 1969 by John Chiangi, Sr. and Stuart Leech, UCC has grown to be the largest inland commercial diving firm in the United States.
Throughout the years, industry innovation led to growth and job creation. Commitment and integrity for each project earned the customer’s trust in UCC, which continued to build our vision for a better, safer company.
“Although the business had grown four times under the current ownership, that took nearly twenty-five years, it all comes down to our people” according to Michael Pellini, UCC Co-Chairman. “They are a diverse and talented group of individuals that I have worked with for many years.”
Over the past 50 years, UCC continuously broke barriers, starting with the very first successful radiological dive at the Yankee Rowe Nuclear Plant in 1973. With new innovations, the UCC team continues our founder’s legacy.
Dedication to our employees and their commitment to UCC has also shaped the future of our company. Our teams always go above and beyond, creating new solutions for our clients that they didn’t know were possible.
“Our clients have always inspired us to create cutting edge solutions. UCC is thriving because of them, as well as our employees and their dedication to innovative projects,” said Nick Stathakis, Midwest Regional Sales Manager for UCC. “We’re so grateful to our clients and employees. Without them, our achievements would not be possible.”
