Underwater Construction Corporation’s (UCC) South Carolina Response Operations Center has been providing commercial diving and underwater inspection services since 2018.
UCC supports underwater inspection, maintenance and repair projects throughout the Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Northern Florida regions. Our South Carolina Response Operations Center continues UCC’s 53+ year reputation of setting the standard in safety and innovation for commercial and nuclear diving services.
As the largest inland commercial diving services company in the United States, Underwater Construction Corporation and its staff of over 200 divers, supervisors and project managers operate from multiple regional locations in Connecticut, Maryland, Michigan, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Texas, South Carolina and the United Kingdom. Through our global network of offices and associates, UCC has performed projects in over 25 countries.
UCC’s commercial dive / marine teams develop cost-effective solutions for a client’s underwater construction and maintenance projects. These include power plant underwater cooling water intake/discharge structure maintenance, underwater carbon wrap / coating, pile jacketing and underwater hydroelectric dam maintenance.
A recent example of how UCC’s South Carolina Dive Team helps our customers is the cleaning of a suppression pool liner and its components at a power plant facility.
A thorough, visual and photo-documented inspection was then performed of the safety-related system during the plant’s scheduled outage.
All inspections were conducted with qualified VT-1/VT-3 inspectors, adhering to UCC’s site-approved inspection procedures.
The UCC crew was able to inspect the requested liner and its components during the client’s scheduled outage period, and completed this task two days ahead of schedule.
We implement proven safety plans in harmony with each customer’s health and safety policy metrics. Underwater Construction Corporation meets or exceeds project budgets and schedules. Every job, no matter the size, receives the professionalism customers expect from UCC.
The UCC South Carolina Response Operations Center has a full 3,000 square-foot equipment warehouse, and 1,000 square-foot office area, which is centrally located between the Duke East and West Hydroelectric Divisions and borders the Spartanburg Downtown Airport.
Our South Carolina Response Operations Center location puts us closer to Southeast Regional project locations, resulting in lower mobilization costs and faster response times to better serve our customer’s needs.
