As President and CEO of Underwater Construction Corporation (UCC), Mr. Palumbo oversees all aspects of the organization, including policies, procedures, operations, personnel, finance, public relations, and legal matters.
With over two decades of experience at UCC, Mr. Palumbo has held increasingly senior roles. Prior to his current position, he served as Chief Operations Officer for ten years (2004-2014), leading global operations. Before that, he was Chief Financial Officer for eight years.
Throughout his career, Mr. Palumbo has demonstrated a strong entrepreneurial spirit. He founded and organized Quinnipiac Bank and Trust, serving as Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Audit Committee. The bank was subsequently acquired by Bankwell and listed on Nasdaq, where Mr. Palumbo continued to serve on the Board of Directors for five years.
Prior to joining UCC, Mr. Palumbo honed his skills in financial management and business development. His experience includes roles at Webster Bank, where he led commercial lending initiatives, and Shoreline Bank and Trust, where he served as COO and CFO. Mr. Palumbo’s career began in auditing at the international accounting firm Coopers & Lybrand, specializing in banking and construction clients, providing him with valuable insights into the industry.
Mr. Palumbo, a summa cum laude graduate of Quinnipiac University with a major in accounting and a minor in finance, has demonstrated exceptional leadership throughout his four-decade career. His ability to empower teams, provide strategic direction, and foster a culture of continuous improvement has been instrumental in his success.
