As the primary owner, Co-Chairman, and Secretary of Underwater Construction Corporation (UCC), as well as a member of its Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Group, Michael A. Pellini has been instrumental in steering the company’s trajectory and ensuring its long-term success.
With more than 43 years of experience in applied commercial diving, Mr. Pellini is an industry veteran with expertise spanning a wide range of operations, including nuclear contaminated diving, hydroelectric and fossil diving, general industrial diving, and marine construction.
Since joining UCC in 1981, Mr. Pellini has held various roles, from a field diver to a corporate executive. His career progression includes positions as Foreman, Project Manager, Estimating and Contracts Manager, and Vice President.
Mr. Pellini has made significant contributions to the company, including the development of company-wide guidelines for “Proposal and Technical Specifications,” “Methodologies Used in the Performance of Services,” and “Generation of Cost Estimates.” In recent years, he has been actively involved in acquisitions, strategic alliances, and overall company management.
A strong advocate for safety, Mr. Pellini has chaired the company’s safety committee for several years. This committee, composed of managers and field personnel, is dedicated to enhancing safety awareness and practices throughout the organization. Additionally, he is actively involved in compliance initiatives, working closely with Human Resources to develop and modify corporate policies.
Guided by his personal philosophy of putting others first, Mr. Pellini believes in a collaborative leadership style, where all team members contribute to decision-making. He values dedication, safety, and the distinct perspectives of each individual. Inspired by the opportunity to pursue a unique and challenging career, Mr. Pellini has dedicated his life to the diving industry and the continued growth of UCC.
He is a graduate of the Divers Academy of the Eastern Seaboard, holds a commercial diving certification, and has furthered his education at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
